Cornyn maintains lead in senate race

Rasmussen Reports:

The U.S. Senate race in Texas remains steady this month. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds GOP Senator John Cornyn leading Democratic state legislator Rick Noriega 48% to 37%.

When “leaners” are included, the race is Cornyn 52%, Noriega 38%.

While Noriega’s support has not changed since July, Cornyn’s support has gone up just a single percentage point. The race tightened slightly last month, when the incumbent’s lead dropped from 13 points in June to 10 points in July. Cornyn is currently serving his first term in the Senate.

This month, Cornyn is backed by 83% of Republicans and 14% of Democrats in Texas. Noriega’s support consists of 71% of Democrats and 10% of Republicans. Among unaffiliated voters, Cornyn leads 41% to 30%.

The Republican leads 48% to 39% among men in the Lone Star State and 47% to 35% among women.

Cornyn is viewed favorably by 57% of Texas voters and unfavorably by 28%. Noriega’s numbers are 45% favorable, 35% unfavorable.

I suspect that Cornyn will probably get close to that 57 percent mark in the election. He is facing a lackluster opponent who is underfunded and making mistakes. Cornyn is well funded and has a good reelection campaign effort. He has been one of the best senators in Washington and deserves to be reelected.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
