Profiles in cowardice

The NY Post in an editorial compares Obama's recent speech condemning MoveOn.org for its New York Times ad last fall calling Gen. David Petraeus, then America's top commander in Iraq, "General Betray Us."

...

"We can no longer afford these sorts of divisions," Obama piously intoned.

Really? Then where was he in September, when the Senate voted 72-25 to "strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of Gen. Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces"?

Absent, that's where. He was far too fearful of stepping on the toes of MoveOn to take a stand.

...
That is what happens when he can't just vote present. He was already sucking up to MoveOn which subsequently endorsed him and he has the courage to bash them now that they don't have an alternative candidate who will follow their kooky policies.
