FARC hostages rescued

BBC:

The Colombian authorities say they have rescued Ingrid Betancourt and three Americans held by rebels in Colombia.

Ms Betancourt, a French-Colombian politician, has been held for more than six years by the rebel Farc group and is said to be in very poor health.

...

Other reports indicate a total of 15 were rescued. The Americans were military contractors. The Colombian commandos evidently came across a security cordon of FARC rebels surrounding the hostages. The story suggest the rebels were talked into surrendering the hostages. It does not indicate what happened to the rebels.

I think it is another blow to the narco terrorist and indicates the government is continuing to unravel the insurgency.

Reuters
has more on the hostage rescue.
