Airhead Iraq analysis
Arianna Huffington tries to rewrite history to make the success in Iraq look something other than successful. She even breaks out the "imminent threat" trope although the only person I ever heard say it was Democrat Jay Rockefeller who happened to be on the intelligence committee.
She overlooks all of the grass roots reconciliation taht has taken place in Iraq and apparently has not notices that the Iraqi have met 15 of the 18 benchmarks. When Iraq was a more violent place the violence was a metric her side used to council retreat and defeat. Now that it has decreased by about 90 percent it is no big deal.
The fact is that some in the anti war left are still desperate for defeat even in the face of obvious success. They can't handle victory.
