UK halts deportation of gay to Iran

The UK can't deport terrorist because of its human rights treaty with the EU, but it can engage in inhumane deportation orders of others and apparently judgment does not enter the equation. At least Kazemi's effective death sentence has been reversed. It is time for them to reverse their order on Camille.
Britain halted deportation proceedings Thursday against a gay Iranian teenager who has said he would probably be hanged because of his sexual orientation if he is returned to Iran.As long as they are being humane they should consider the situation of a 15 year old step daughter of a British man who has been ordered deported to the US because she and her mother are US citizens. She would have to leave her parents and three siblings behind. Camille Beutler was born in Dallas, Texas. Her mother is originally from Odessa, where President Bush made his home for a while.Mehdi Kazemi, 19, moved to Britain in 2005 to study and has said he then learned that his boyfriend in Iran had been hanged after being convicted of sodomy. Homosexuality is a severe crime under Iranian law, and Kazemi's case has drawn concern from gay rights groups around the world.
