Pakistan's new approach to Taliban

The NY Times says the new Pakistan government is going to negotiate with people whose word is not good, the Taliban. That sounds like what Musharraf did a couple of years ago, which bought the enemy time to make things worse in Pakistan.

The US should continue to attack enemy leadership gatherings in Pakistan when we have assets in the area. I think the chances of the new government getting a reasonable agreement with the Islamic religious bigots of the Taliban are at best remote.

We have not been getting our moneys worth out of our investment in Pakistan fighting al Qaeda and this looks like it will be worth even less.
