Iran, stop acting like they have something to hide
Washington Post:
President Bush warned Iran to "come clean" on the extent of its nuclear activities or risk international isolation as he sought to shore up support for his strategy of continued diplomatic pressure on Tehran in the face of new intelligence that questions previous administration claims about Iran's nuclear weapons program.Iran has done much to give the impression that it has something to hide. It has excluded inspectors, build it facilities underground and refused several deals to provide it with fuel that could not be used to build a bomb. Russia has made such offers and most recently Saudi Arabia proposed to produce fuel on a neutral site. Instead, Iran has been pushing to produce its own fuel at a rate that suggest it wants to build a bomb. There is substantial evidence that it has most of the technical knowledge for the bomb. With Iran acting so guilty it raises further questions about the new NIE. Those questions are heightened by the political bias of some who compiled the NIE."The Iranians have a strategic choice to make," Bush said upon landing here Wednesday morning. "They can come clean with the international community about the scope of their nuclear activities and fully accept the long-standing offer to suspend their enrichment program and come to the table and negotiate, or they can continue on a path of isolation."
"The choice is up to the Iranian regime," the president said.
