In the name that party game this report from nj.com identifies the party of only one of the 11.
...Apparently they were all eager to cooperate for cash. Imagine, one of them was a Republican and the party affiliation of the others who knows, but they were corrupt and from New Jersey if that gives you a clue.
Among those charged are Samuel Rivera, the mayor of Passaic; Assemblyman Mims Hackett, Jr., who is also the mayor of Orange; Assemblyman Rev. Alfred E. Steele, from Paterson; and Keith Reid, the chief of staff to Newark City Council President Mildred Crump. All of them are Democrats.
The probe also netted a Passaic City Councilman, Marcellus Jackson, his former colleague, Jonathon Soto, a Republican - and five currant and former members of the Pleasantville School Board, authorities said. (Emphasis added.)
The 11 officials are accused of accepting a total of $150,500 in bribes in exchange for agreeing to steer public contracts to companies that offered insurance brokerage or roofing services to school districts and municipalities, according to criminal complaints unsealed with the arrests.
