Jake Tapper Presses Harry Reid On What Becomes of Iraqis After His Withdrawal, Gets No Response

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Jake Tapper, former reporter for the obnoxiously leftist Salon, is a dyed-in-the-wool liberal, but unlike most of his liberal colleagues, he actually attempts to do his job and ask difficult questions of Democrats rather than acting as an on-the-payroll campaign consultant for them.

TAPPER: With all due respect, Senator, you didn't answer my question.

REID: OK. This is not a debate.

TAPPER: Will the Iraqis be safer?

REID: We're answering questions. (calling on someone else) Yes, young man? Anyone else have a question?

Follow-up questions for Democrats when they evade blunt questions about the deficiencies in their "plans" and the dubious assumptions contained within, rather than just letting a Democrat give his focus-grouped answer without challenge or further questioning! What a concept!!!

Perhaps the Democrats have considered the consequences of their policy on Iraq and they just don't care. That is what this none response appears to imply. Hat tip to Larwyn.

The Washington Times Editorial also looks at Reid's evasions. "Right now they have no plan. They have not even attempted to make the necessary strategic arguments and they have ignored the humanitarian imperatives. Any erstwhile voice of compassion for Rwanda, Bosnia, Darfur and the host of post-Cold War tragedies should be ashamed if their preference for Iraq today risks what Ambassador Ryan Crocker, who should know, fears will be a bloodbath if and when U.S. forces leave precipitously."

Their plan is to blame it on Bush.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
