5th arrest in Brit bombing

British police on Sunday arrested a fifth person and searched houses in connection with a suspected terror attack on a Scottish airport linked to the discovery of two car bombs in London.

The arrests came as Britain raised its terror alert status to the highest level of "critical," indicating an attack is imminent and the country's prime minister warned of dangers to come.

In Scotland, officers swooped on a "number of houses" in an operation they said was linked to both Saturday's airport attack and the London bombs.

In the latest in a series of arrests, one person was apprehended in the northwest port city of Liverpool and two houses were searched. Two, said to be a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, people were earlier seized in nearby Cheshire on the Glasgow-bound M6 highway.

In the small Scottish village of Houston, just outside Glasgow, video footage showed police combing a three-bedroom rental house. Neighbors described the occupants as of "Asian" appearance.

Scotland's Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill described those behind the airport attack as "not born and bred here," indicating they were not Scottish, the UK Press Association reported.

Police sources linked the airport attack to the failed London bomb plots and said they had traced the cars found in the capital back to Glasgow.

It is interesting how authorities and the media in the UK jump through so many hoops to avoid saying that the suspects are Pakistani Muslims. As I have noted before, "Asian" appearance is Brit PC speak for Pakistani or possibly Indian. But the Hindu of India have not been engaged in mass murder for Allah. So, "not born or bred here" is just another way of saying Pakistani Muslims too.

While the Pakistani government of Musharraf does not sponsor these terror attacks, it appears to be impotent to do much about them even when it is the subject of the attacks. What is strange is its resistance to having outsiders come in and help it handle these wicked people.
