Israel PM rejects ISG tie of ME peace to Iraq
AP/Houston Chronicle:
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said today that he disagreed with a U.S. advisory group's report linking efforts to stabilize Iraq with new moves to end Israel's conflict with its neighbors. That has been the fundamental question in the Middle East. What do Israel's enemies have to offer Israel that is of value. They mainly want additional concessions while they continue a covert or overt war against Israel. The Syrians and Palestinians and Iranians are negotiating in bad faith at this point. They could have all had peace years ago if they were willing to negoiate in good faith.

Syrian President Bashar Assad has called in recent months for a new round of talks with Israel, but Olmert has rejected them out of hand.
"The question of what Israel can offer Syria has been raised before. The question is, what can we get from the Syrians if enter negotiations," he said.
