UK cannot redeploy from this insurgency

Britain now may face a mortal problem. By MI5’s reckoning, the Muslim radicalization inside the U.K. is expanding rapidly, sheltered by a base of support 100,000 strong. Attempts by society to head off the problem by multi-cultural conciliation seem to be either failing or indeed making the problem worse.

1,600 terrorists in 200 cells, working on at least 30 active plots, and sheltered by 100,000 increasingly enthusiastic sympathizers – this sounds remarkably similar to the task faced by an American infantry battalion based near a medium-sized city in Iraq’s al-Anbar province. Western European security services have long experience with violent urban radicals. But the previous episodes were more like one or two orders of magnitude smaller than the growing threat MI5’s chief described.

If not yet a civil war, Britain’s problem may already be too large for the police alone. And MI5 and the police are likely to be surprised as the enemy adapts; the August plot in Britain to destroy ten airliners over the Atlantic failed due to a security breach inside the conspirators’ organization. With that knowledge, and knowing how the security services go about their work, we should expect the persistent Muslim radicals to fix their problems and then soon achieve success.

There is much more. There is little reason to expect the multi culti left in the UK to take effective action even with this dire warning. The UK left is still under the delusion that the middle east dispute can be resolved that that will some how satiate the wishes of the Islamist bigots who want to destroy the UK and the rest of the west. The left still blames those resisting the bigots rather than the bigots for conflicts and as a blade is drawn across their neck they will still be blaming Bush and not the guy with the blade.
