The 100 greatest country tunes compiled by CMT

Here is the CMT list.

Starting from the bottom of their list I will mention a few I like.

100 Killing Time Clint Black

91 Seven Year Ache Roseanne Cash

89 Heres a Quarter Call Someone who Cares Travis Tritt

85 Blue LeAnne Rimes

74 Flowers on the Wall The Statler Brothers (I would have rated this song higher. It is a true classic.)

56 Mama He's Crazy The Judds

55 Act Naturally Buck Owens

46 Desperado The Eagles

45 Guitars, Cadillacs Dwight Yoakum

42 El Paso Marty Robbins

29 I'm So Lonsome I Could Cry Hank Williams

16 I will Always Love You Dolly Parton

12 Amarillo by Morning George Strait

07 I Fall to Pieces Patsy Cline

06 Friends in Low Places Garth Brooks

05 You're Cheatin' Heart Hank Williams

03 Crazy Patsy Cline

02 He Stopped Loving Her Today George Jones

The top song was Tammy Wynette's Stand by Your Man. I thought she had many better songs, particularly I Don't Want to Play House. There were other songs by artist on the list, that I would have rated ahead of the one that made it. Clint Black's The Lights Are On, But Noboby's Home is one. A song written by Harlan Howard and song by several artist, Don't You Ever Get Tired of Hurting Me, should have made the list.

Check it out to see if any of your favorites are on the list.
