The WaPo does a timeline of the Katrina and the response, but leaves out the LA officals blocking of Red Cross and Salvation Army supplies for those huddled in the Superdome and convention center

It is a long story but it leaves out a crucial piece of evidence. It does discuss the city's evacuation plan and city officals incredibly state that they never intended to to use the busses to evacuate those without transportation. While the try to prop Blanco up, she still comes across as overwhelmed and not in charge.

For it's length, you never hear Brown and Chertoff's side of the story. Nor is there much discussion of events in Mississippi which took the brunt of the storm. It is almost looks like since Haley Barber was not whining he was not part of the story. However, Mississippi clearly did not have the breakdown of law and order that Louisiana had. The lack of character of looters and police who quit in an emergency, while mentioned is glossed over and is still presented in the context of a FEMA failure, which it was not. Blanco's dithering response is never adequately explained. While the story tries to say a lot, it leaves out alot, particularly the blocking of Red Cross relief supplies by state officials.
