Residents of the Cajundome in Lafayette pepper governor with questions

It appears that Louisiana has not been as sucessfulf as Texas in transitioning evacuees into more traditional housing. Lafayette raises spirits with its Cajunfest.

  1. Actually we have processed over 10,000 evacuees out of the Cajundome since it first was used as a shelter. In those first frantic days, as housing was found for some...other evacuees were brought in.The Cajundome was at capacity of 6000 for several days and various churches were used as shelters also. As housing has been found for the evacuees, the numbers have gone down to about 1200 according to today's Lafayette paper.
